Giving the Gift of Crypto with Binance Gift Cards (Guide)

Gift giving is always a bit of a difficult task for me, especially when they’re meant to be made out to senior colleagues and peers. What do you get someone who has most things money can buy? Well, for me this year, it’s been an invitation to the cutting edge of financial tech — cryptocurrency.

Cryptocurrencies don’t really need an introduction anymore. With a market cap exceeding $1 trillion, the chatter is now too loud to ignore. But, many of my peers and colleagues are still hesitant to take the plunge, and with good reason. Emerging technologies, especially radical ones like crypto are always somewhat anxiety inducing. The idea that money as we’ve always known it will be replaced by what is essentially numbers on a screen does seem somewhat bizarre.

To be fair, I was extremely suspicious of the idea a few years ago myself, and I fully relate to the hesitation. What I do know however, is that for anyone with an ounce of curiosity, the prospect of investing in and learning about the most radical financial technology of tomorrow is impossible to ignore. All that is really needed is to take the leap of faith.

Enter Binance Gift Cards. This really quirky product offered by Binance, arguably, the world’s biggest cryptocurrency exchange is the perfect gift to be given to anyone on the fence about stepping into the world of infinite possibility that is the world of crypto.

With Binance Gift Cards, token amounts of cryptocurrency can be gifted to Binance users and non-users. The gift card holds the value of crypto intended to be gifted and can be redeemed by the recipient into their very own Binance wallet. And, voila! They have not only been given the gift of crypto, they’ve also taken the first step towards investing in cryptocurrencies.

I plan on gifting Binance Gift Cards to everyone I know this year, and will run through the process of creating a gift card on Binance for anyone who wants to do the same themselves.

Here’s a quick guide on how to give the gift of crypto to anyone!

Step 1: Set-up & Preparation

To be able to generate Binance Gift Cards, you should be a Binance user first. It’s quick, simple and free to create a Binance account. Follow this link to use my referral code and enjoy discounts on fees when you trade on Binance.

Once you’ve set-up a Binance wallet and funded it, you can generate gift cards to be sent out to anyone you want to give the gift of crypto to. Ensure that you have the amount of crypto you are hoping to gift in your Funding Wallet on Binance before generating a Binance Gift Card.

I recommend gifting stable coins to make things simpler and easier for anyone you are sending the gift cards out to. USDT, BUSD and USDC are examples of stable coins that are pegged to the US Dollar, and essentially serve as US Dollars.

Step 2: Choosing a Gift Option

The next step is to generate a Binance Gift Card.

There are two ways to use the Binance Gift Card service.

  1. Send Gift (Referral)
The “Send Gift” feature is great for gifting non-Binance users who do not have a Binance account using a gift card.
  2. Transfer Crypto
The “Transfer Crypto” feature is great for sending Binance users who currently have a Binance account a crypto gift.

Step 3: Send Gift (Referral)

The “Send Gift” landing page (use the above link), directly leads you to the submission form shown in the below image.

Once on the “Send Gift” landing page, select an option between email and text message to send the Binance Gift Card based on your preference, and enter either the recipient’s email address or mobile phone number based on your selection.

If you wish to include your Binance referral code in the gift card, opt into the “Enable to bind your referral link” option.

Next, enter your name and optionally leave a message for the recipient by filling in the relevant fields.

Finally, click the “Create a new card” link and navigate to the below shown landing page.

In the “Create” landing page, select the cryptocurrency you wish to gift the recipient with. As mentioned above, I recommend using a stable coin such as USDT, USDC, or BUSD. Alternatively, any cryptocurrency that is listed on the Binance exchange can be selected, including Bitcoin, Ethereum or Solana based on your preference.

Next, enter the amount you wish to gift. However, ensure that the amount you wish to gift is available in your Binance Funding Wallet first.

Once the amount has been selected, enter the quantity of gift cards you wish to generate in the “Enter Quantity” field.

Then, select the gift card design you prefer from the listed templates on the left side of the screen, and click “Create” at the bottom of the screen.

Finally, complete the 2FA authentication required to complete the creation of the Binance Gift Card, and the entered amount will be deducted from your Binance Funding Wallet and the creation of the gift card will be complete.

Once the Binance Gift Card has been created, navigate back to the “Send Gift” landing page from the menu at the top of the screen, and click on “Send” to complete the process.

You’ve now sent the Binance Gift Card to the recipient as an email or text message based on your selection.

Step 4: Transfer Crypto

To give the gift of crypto to an existing Binance user, follow the below link to the “Transfer Crypto” landing page or click on the “Transfer Crypto” option on the menu at the top of the screen.
